TAYLOR VISITS BORO'S YOUNG LEARNERS
Middlesbrough Football Club, 12 Oct 2009
Defender Andrew Taylor will be the special guest at Boro's Study Support Centre on Tuesday October 13 at 4pm to meet children who are taking part in a Playing for Success after-school programme.
Taylor will talk about the qualities that make a good captain with pupils from
Linthorpe Community Primary School and St Joseph's RC Primary School.
He will meet them in the first-team changing rooms as part of an interactive literacy session. This is just one session out of 10 weeks linked to the highly-successful Playing for Success programme.

His visit will form part of a website design the students are producing to promote Middlesbrough FC's stadium tours.
The students have shown outstanding commitment to their learning and have all been star players on the course.
Playing for Success is in its 11th year nationally and is recognised as one of the most successful out-of-hours learning projects. It uses the environment and medium of football and other sports as motivational tools, and focuses on raising literacy, numeracy and ICT standards.
Centre Manager Martin Hedgley says: "Andrew's visit will bring the literacy alive and adds purpose to the children's work. Having the players join in during an interactive session always helps raise the children's achievement and motivation to learn. All of the children have excelled themselves and should be proud of their achievements."
